LookApp is an obstacle awareness app under development for iPhone and Android. We are utilising a phone’s rear camera and motion sensors to identify common obstacles and prompt the person walking to look up, using sound and vibration.

The prototype uses the phone’s existing camera and sensors. No external sensors or wearable accessories are planned for the first release.
No. Not all, the limits of detection coverage and reliability are still being tested and the app being trained. LookApp is intended to support awareness and cannot replace looking ahead or guarantee a clear path. Whilst the current prototype runs in the foreground for testing purposes; it is intended for uncompromising background operation behind other apps.
